As of today, March 31, BookBaby’s KDP account with Amazon has been temporarily suspended.
Why has this happened?
While addressing a publishing rights claim involving one BookBaby author, Amazon has temporarily suspended BookBaby’s entire distribution account from listing and selling any eBook titles.
What does this mean for authors?
All eBooks listed on Amazon through BookBaby are currently unavailable. Your eBooks are still available on all other retail sites including Barnes & Noble, iBooks, Google Play, BookShop™
and the 50+ other retail stores that BookBaby distributes to.
What about my printed books?
Your Amazon printed book listings are unaffected and still available for sale.
So what now?
We are actively working with Amazon management to resolve this issue as soon as possible. BookBaby is part of a collective of companies that has been dedicated to helping independent authors, artists, and businesses succeed for over 70 years. We understand this disruption is a considerable inconvenience in your self-publishing careers and are doing everything we can to right this wrong, including engaging in vigorous dialogue with senior levels of Amazon management. We deeply apologize for this issue and ask for your patience as we work toward a resolution.
We will continue to actively update our authors on the status of our eBook distribution situation on this page. Please refer here for any and all updates.
