Metadata is the standardized information used to describe your eBook to our digital distribution partners. A conversion specialist will review the "metadata" you provide. We will, in turn, provide that information to all our digital distribution partners. Most of our partners are very picky about what characters, information, and descriptors can be used in the metadata. Some examples of basic metadata problems would be incorrect title capitalization, a wrong ISBN, or missing author name. If metadata is incorrect, distribution partners may reject an eBook for distribution outright or delay its "ingestion" into their online retail store while it asks us for correct data.
