BookBaby employs a variety of binding machines that are optimized to produce durable hard cover books in quantities from 1-100,000 units. Depending on the binding machine used to produce your book orders the type of end papers used for the end sheets might be different. This is because some production lines are optimized to make orders of 1 book while others are optimized to produce short run bulk orders or super long run offset printed book orders.
The white end sheets in hard cover books are used to cover the thick binder boards needed to secure the printed cover sheet to books' hard cover. These end sheets also secure the book block to the hard case book cover.
